Musical Discovery Evening: Bach's B Minor Mass as a Musical Encyclopaedia

A witty journey through J.S Bach’s masterpiece, with the leading Bach scholar of our time. Discover the B Minor Mass as a musical encyclopaedia for the 18th century and the glories of Baroque. The multi-award winning Professor John Butt was University Lecturer and Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge and is the current holder of the Gardiner Chair of Music at the University of Glasgow. Since 2003 he has been musical director of the Dunedin Consort, performing their internationally renowned Baroque and contemporary repertoire. As a musicologist, John has published five books on Bach and the Baroque period with Cambridge University Press, including the Cambridge Music Handbook Bach – Mass in B Minor. Professor Butt was honoured by Her Majesty with an OBE in the 2013 New Years Honours.
