Judith Howarth:

Judith is a great favourite with Gloucester Choral Society and their audiences, particularly following her stunning performance in Verdi's Requiem which helped to raise over £12,000 for the Tsunami Appeal fund.

The quality and accuracy of her singing are inspirational for those in the chorus and will impress the members of the audience.

Judith Howarth studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and currently studies with Patricia McMahon. On leaving college she joined the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as a principal soprano.

David Stout:

A former Head Chorister of Westminster Abbey under Simon Preston, David spent his formative years in Cambridge and Uppingham, England, and Mafikeng, South Africa. Subsequently, he was awarded a Choral Scholarship to King’s College, Cambridge, joined the choir of St. John’s College, Cambridge, during a gap year, and studied Zoology at Durham University. He then studied on the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Rudolf Piernay, where he was recipient of the John Hosier Scholarship and the Harold Rosenthal Award.

Davod was a great success with Gloucester Choral in March 2007, singing Beethoven's massive Missa Solemnis so it is great to welcome him back to the Cathedral.
