This will be held at St Mary de Lode Church, Gloucester

DOWN AMPNEY DAY

A series of events staged at Down Ampney, the picturesque Cotswold village where Ralph Vaughan Williams (RVW) was born.

1. “Vaughan Williams – the man and his music” – a talk given by Stephen Johnson, noted musicologist and presenter of “Discovering Music” on BBC Radio Three

2. A guided tour of the house where RVW was born with lunch in the gardens

3. Song recital by Iestyn Davies (a young British countertenor with a growing international reputation) in All Saints Church, Down Ampney, where RVW’s father was rector
