Paul Charles Clarke

Paul Charles Clarke is in demand by the world's major opera houses and orchestras.

Mr Clarke made his debut at the Opera du Rhin in Strasbourg in the title role of Benvenuto Cellini and returned to the Welsh National Opera for the title role in the French five act version of 'Don Carlos' opposite his wife soprano Nuccia Focile. Other engagements have included a concert of opera arias and duets with Nuccia Focile with the Halle Orchestra conducted by Mark Elder, and Don Jose in Carmen for the Hamburg State Opera and Florida Grand Opera. Recent engagements include Pinkerton in 'Madama Butterfly' for Welsh National Opera and Don Jose for Glyndebourne on Tour and Des Grieux in 'Manon' for Scottish Opera.

Paul Charles Clarke recently sang Des Grieux in Manon for Scottish Opera, Don Jose in Carmen for Royal Danish Opera and Verdi’s Requiem with Lahti Symphony Orchestra.

Engagements in the 10/11 season and beyond include The Dream of Gerontius in Dublin National Concert Hall, Beethoven’s Symphony number 9 with Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Verdi's Requiem with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus for Welsh National Opera.
